# How to Save Player Data Securely in s&box

Use Network Storage when local save files are not enough for player data persistence. It gives s&box games a hosted database for saves, inventories, stats, and cloud data that can follow the same player between sessions.

## Recommended Pattern

1. Store public read data in normal collections.
2. Store money, inventory, progression, and unlocks in endpoint-controlled collections.
3. Let the client call an endpoint with intent, such as `purchase-item` or `claim-reward`.
4. Let the endpoint read the player, validate the request, and write the result.

That keeps the game code small while the backend stays authoritative.
